Maiko is an apprentice Geisha, Maiko means "Dancing Child." You can tell and Maiko from Geiko but the Maiko's bright, gaudy colors and her furisode ( long ) sleeves, apposed to the Geiko who is a much more elegant woman, with simple kimono and short sleeved style. :3
